Alcoholism or addiction to alcohol can not only be a problem for the person addicted to it, but also for the one’s who live with that person. Alcoholism is the most grievous phase of drinking problem. It includes all the symptom of alcohol abuse, although it also includes one more factor, that is getting physically dependent on alcohol. You are an alcoholic if you are physically constrained to drink or you rely on alcohol to function yourself.
Tolerance is the first major warning sign of alcoholism. If you drink more than what you used to previously to feel relaxed or buzzed, or if you do not get drunk even after drinking more than what other drink. These are all the warning signs of tolerance to alcohol, which is eventually an early signal of alcoholism. Tolerance to alcohol simply means that you need to intake more alcohol, than the previous time to feel the same kind of effects.
Withdrawal is the second major sign of alcoholism. If you require a few drinks to get steady at the start of the day or if you are drinking to avoid or relieve the withdrawal symptoms, then this is a huge warning signal of alcoholism. Due to heavy drinking, your body tends to get used to alcohol and you tend to experience the symptoms of withdrawal if alcohol is not consumed. Following are the few withdrawal symptoms: Sweating, Headache, Insomnia, fatigue, irritability, depression, anxiety or jumpiness, shakiness or trembling, nausea and vomiting as well as loss of appetite. In severe cases, these symptoms may also include seizures, hallucinations, agitation and fever. These are few extreme symptoms and you will have to consult your doctor about wanting to quit drinking at this particular stage.

Ayurveda the Science of Self Care

Native to India, Ayurveda is the ancient medicinal form, developed during the Vedic times about 5000 years ago. Ayurveda literally means the ‘Science of Life’. It is governed by the laws of nature which suggests that life is a combination of senses, mind, body and soul. Ayurveda gives a complete look into the lifestyle of a person and teaches how to live life in a balanced way which is disturbed in the present scenario due to various factors.

To heal and rejuvenate myself, I availed for a full fledged Ayurveda wellness package which runs the gamut from oil massages, Ayurveda treatments, luxurious accommodation and Ayurvedic diet food to herbal steam baths along with several complimentary services like personal consultations and yoga classes.
Ayurvedayoga retreat Dehradun is the only resort of its kind, which offers a ‘Home away from Home feeling’. First and foremost, I had a consultation with the Ayurvedic doctors and a naturopathist who detected my disease and then recommended me some Ayurvedic treatments to go for. My session started with an hour long Yoga classes that helped achieve physical well being, mental peace and harmony within.
Amritas, the Ayurveda centre at Naturoville practices and propagate the ancient rituals of Ayurveda and for deep healing and unification of Mind, Body and Soul. The program included Body purification and stress management program. The genuine Kerala Ayurvedic therapies combined with Yoga provided deep healing from within. The doctors here are highly qualified and well experienced who diagnoses you with utmost care and proposes just the right treatment taking care of the patient’s needs and health.

The treatment is done on a routine basis with special attention to diet and lifestyle, helping the body and mind to be clean and stable. The authenticity and the commitment to the Ayurveda were evident in the use of age- old powders, oils, rituals and qualified therapists trained in traditional Ayurvedic schools.  After my session was over, in the end, the doctors gave some tips and take home information on your lifestyle and dietary changes that can and will bring balance in daily life and restoring to a state of vibrant health.

Ayurvedic Diet the Art of Living

With Ayurveda gaining preponderance in recent times and keeping in mind its benefits, there has been a shift in focus on the Ayurvedic Diet. There are specific dietary plans meant for each of the three main body types after thorough examination of the concerned person’s constitution. Ayurveda has always had an individualized approach to nutrition. Ayurvedic nutrition is a methodology of structuring diet according to an individual’s metabolic functions.  I was made to consult at a Naturoville spa for an Ayurvedic diet that would cure and prevent my disease.

It was a great experience from the moment I stepped in. The prime thing was to identify my Dosha; body and mind principles which are essential for maintaining health. I was consulted with an Ayurvedic doctor and a nutritionist who diagnosed me and suggested a specific Ayurvedic diet menu. After a physical appearance assessment, the doctor identified my Dosha and I was put on to follow a specific seven day diet plan. They let me choose the meal I wanted to have and accordingly generated a diet chart for me. It also kept a close eye on digestion. The Ayurvedic diet pertained to seasonal variation, organic fruits and vegetables.

A regular daily routine with regular times for eating was prepared along with a gentle exercise regime to balance the mind, body and soul. The sweet, light tastes and food were in accordance that pacified the illness. High intake of proteins, grains, cooked vegetables and dairy products were served suitably at regular intervals. Utmost care was taken in preparation of the food. Naturoville has a team of special chefs and Vedic and organic food experts who catered to diet based food as per the doctor’s diet instructions so that overall health conditions are maintained.

The startling fact was that thinking of an Ayurvedic diet and recipes, many people think of rice, boiled food but here Ayurvedic diet principles could be applied to any cuisine be it Asian, European or whatever you prefer.  On the whole, an Ayurvedic diet menu encourages a wholesome, timely meal that naturally takes care of weight and body mass in the right way without any special effort but just eating.

I too wanted to restore my youthful vigor and appearance hence I availed for an antiageing treatment at Naturoville spa. At the resort, the treatment started with a consultation session with a naturopathy doctor who directed me with various treatments and right form of exercises.

The session began with an anti ageing aroma massage with a special pure essential oil which was soothing and rejuvenating. After an hour long massage, next was Pizhichil treatment- a hot oil massage of medicated herbs all over the body in a synchronized movement. This massage got me rid of all pains leaving one refreshed. Both the massage included medicated herbs apprenticed to reduce the effect of ageing.

Next was Shirodhara, which was pouring of hot oil over forehead in a circular motion that acted as a boost and soothing to the nerves. Half an hour of pouring and it felt relieving and gaining back of youthful vigor.  After this it was time for Herbal mud plaster, medicated herbs fused with Mother Earth applied all over the body that was cool, detoxifying and healing.

Naturoville deluxe massage was the most effective; it was an integrated body massage with specific oil and reflexology method of applying pressure on feet, hands and ears. In the end, the session ended with an energizing bath which drained out all tiredness, pain and the effects of old age and instead provided me with a new younger look. The anti ageing program is indeed a secret to youth, beauty and wellness through the ancient beauty and healing experiences with the modern day anti ageing products.

Rediscover Yourself at Ayurveda Resorts in India

Vacations mean rejuvenation! I wanted to make the most of the opportunity of holiday that came as a surprise to me. So, I decided to stay in an Ayurveda Resort during my India tour. Naturoville in Rishikesh was the one that appeared to fulfilling my expectations of India Ayurveda Resort.

I booked a package for Ayurveda rejuvenation therapies and started packing my bags. Finally the day arrived when I flew for my stay at the popular Ayurveda resort in Rishikesh. Situated at Dehradun-Haridwar Highway, Naturoville was easily accessible by Air as we landed at Dehradun Airport.

On being arrived at Naturoville, I realized that it was undoubtedly a resort with a difference. It features expert Ayurveda practitioners, doctors and therapists. As I booked a rejuvenation program at the Ayurveda resort in India, I had to undergo few Ayurveda therapies everyday. It took me 2-3 hours in a day to undergo the treatments. I must say the practitioners and doctors are well-aware of the human body and based on my consultation with them helped me to understand my body type in a better way.

As accommodation at Naturoville is distinguished into the two categories of Super Deluxe and Executive Rooms, I chose the second one. Each of them is provided with a soothing décor and a pleasant ambience. The facilities I was offered at Executive Suite included king size bedroom, private balcony, telephone, bath tub, electronic safe, and satellite television and internet connectivity of WiFi. What I liked most about the suite was it had adequate ventilation!

This wellness resort in India also houses a multi cuisine restaurant, called ‘Prana’ or Life. Though the resort offers its guests a variety of Indian, Continental and Oriental dishes, yet I preferred to go for the healthy food especially prepared for people undergoing therapies. Not to forget, the resort also houses a Spa offering a number of therapies that cater to fitness, serenity and rejuvenation including Yoga, Ayurveda, Meditation and Naturopathy.

My Ayurveda treatment programme continued for 4 days and at the end, I found myself as a new person with a refreshing feel.

I must say if any one wants to improve his health, Naturoville in Rishikesh is the perfect place to make your holiday more rejuvenating and more memorable.

Indian Ayurveda presents you a complete holistic care system

Ayurveda is the oldest system of medicine in the world that restores and revitalizes body, mind and soul. Ayurveda in India is a complete system of healing and healthcare. After my pious and tiresome journey to Rishikesh, I decided to rejuvenate myself at an Ayurvedic centre which could invigorate me and Naturoville had put a perfect end to my search for the same. Being located on the Rishikesh-Dehradun highway, it was easily accessible by a taxi. Soon as I reached the centre, I was welcomed by a serene, calm and cool ambience. Nestled in the foothills of Himalayas the beauty was striking and heart stirring.

I was accommodated in an executive suite with a soothing garden view in front of the room .The state of the art facilities in the room made me more comfortable. After my luggage had been taken care of I decided to freshen up quickly and take part in the free yoga sessions at Aatma yoga centre; very smoothly they introduced the basic philosophy and techniques of breath and body alignment. After a relaxing good hour of yoga, I strolled around the complex exploring the massage centers, Jacuzzi and steam bath. After exploration I went to the dining hall; I had a hearty continental meal and returned back to my room.

Next morning I woke up early and after taking bath, I went to meet the Ayurvedic doctor and he advised me an Ayurvedic massage and Ayurvedic medicines. I was looking forward to my very 1st adept massage. I was assigned to a lady from Kerala. She started with a gentle massage of hands followed by legs, torso and finally head. With soft music in the background, my mind and body relaxed and I slipped into slumber. An hour passed without realizing the flow of time and massage was over. I was woken up and directed to the steam bath.

It was hot and humid inside but by the time I came out I was wet and my body was shining. After bath I went for breakfast and later to a naturopathy consultant. He conducted me on Ayurvedic treatments and various healing therapies for pains, disorders and body care. After lunch the same afternoon it was time to bid goodbye to the beautiful resort and I proceeded back to home. The Ayurveda tour was indeed pleasurable as it left me new and refreshed. Waiting for a prospect to visit the resort and enjoy the experience of Ayurveda in India again.
